Bringing benefits home.
Get ready to choose your 2026 U.S. benefits.
Your current benefits will NOT automatically roll over to 2026!
You MUST elect your benefits during Open Enrollment. If you don’t, you will not have benefits for the next plan year.
STEP 1
Review your 2026 benefit changes
New Medical carrier — Cigna
We are moving our PPO and HDHP medical plans from Anthem to Cigna. Kaiser (California) and HMAA (Hawaii) plans are not affected.
Premium adjustments
Employee-paid premiums (your paycheck deductions) will reflect the 2026 rates. View rates by plan and tier here. The out of pocket plan design costs, including deductibles and co-pays for the HDHP and PPO plans remain the same as 2025.
EPO Plan discontinuation
We are discontinuing the EPO plan. If you are currently enrolled, you must select a new Cigna or Kaiser plan to have coverage in 2026.
New Health Savings Account (HSA) administrator
HSA Bank will be our new administrator for all Health Savings Accounts. If you have a current balance, look out for further information in the coming weeks on how to take action.
We are not changing our current offerings with Guardian (dental), VSP (vision), Life, Disability, Flexible Spending Account (FSA), Modern Health, Therify, Maven, One Medical, Rocket Lawyer, and Origin.
STEP 2
Prepare for Open Enrollment
Explore your options with ALEX, verify your eligibility for enrollment, and collect the necessary information before logging into Workday to complete your selections.
Learn about your medical plans with ALEX
Get help choosing a medical plan and review costs with ALEX, your virtual benefits counselor, to ensure you have the right coverage for yourself or family in 2026.
Important: ALEX is designed to account for your cost and risk preferences and does not officially enroll you in your benefits. You will still need to enroll in Workday. If you have a speciality condition or see a unique specialist, this might not be the right tool to help you make an informed decision.
Visit ALEX to learn more.
Who can enroll for benefits?
- Full-time employees who actively work at least 30 hours per week
- Your legal spouse or domestic partner
- Your natural-born children, current stepchildren, or legally adopted children up to age 26
- Your children of any age who depend on you for support due to a physical or mental disability (documentation may be required)
- Children of a same sex or opposite sex domestic partner relationship, up to age 26 (regardless of marital status)
Consider your benefits needs for the upcoming year
- Are you prepared financially if you can’t work due to an illness or accident?
- Do you have other coverage available to you? If so, be sure to compare it to Thumbtack’s coverage.
- Do you need to consider coverage for your domestic partner or other family members?
How do I pay for my benefits?
Deductions are taken out of each paycheck based on your benefit elections.
Thumbtack pays a portion of your monthly medical premiums to limit your monthly cost and provides you with different coverage options.
Complete your enrollment in Workday
- Select your 2026 benefits by logging into Workday between November 10 and November 21.
- You must actively enroll this year; due to medical plan changes, your current 2025 benefit elections will not roll over.
- Complete your enrollment by Friday, November 21 at 11:59 pm PT, or you will automatically waive medical coverage for 2026. You will NOT be able to make any changes after the deadline.
STEP 3
Get ready to transition to Cigna
To ensure access to necessary care when your Cigna plan starts on January 1, 2026, take these actions now.
Verify which providers are in the Cigna network
Before you enroll, understand your health plan options, find out if your doctors are in the Cigna network, and get questions answered. There are two easy ways to check your options.
Call Cigna’s Transition Support Line
Chat with a live Cigna representative at 888-806-5042.
Check online
- Go to Cigna.com
- Click “Find a Doctor”
- Select “Employer or School”
- Input your zipcode
- Select the type of doctor, name or facilities
- Continue as “Guest”
- Input the name of the network based on your location. It is critical you select the correct network name for your location. Please see below:
• ALL STATES (except Utah): Your network will be the Cigna Open Access Plus (OAP) network.
• UTAH: Your network will be the Cigna PPO network.
IMPORTANT: For specific questions about in-network doctors please contact a Cigna representative directly. They are the best resource for this information, as the Thumbtack Benefits & Wellbeing team does not have access to the details of your care.
Learn more about Cigna’s in-network doctors here.
Transition of Care with Cigna
The Transition of Care program allows you to temporarily continue seeing your current out-of-network doctor for specific, ongoing medical conditions to ensure your treatment is not interrupted. If you are eligible for this program, here’s what you can do next:
- Check if your doctor is in Cigna’s network: Call a Cigna representative at 888-806-5042
- If your doctor is out of network: Call a Cigna representative at 888-806-5042 and apply for Transition of Care in writing within 30 days of your Cigna coverage start date to temporarily continue treatment for your specific condition.
- Get more information: Attend a live Cigna presentation or schedule a one-on-one session during office hours with a Cigna representative. Schedules for presentations and office hours are listed below.
IMPORTANT: For specific questions about Transition of Care please contact a Cigna representative directly. They are the best resource for this information, as the Thumbtack Benefits & Wellbeing team does not have access to the details of your care.
Learn more about Cigna’s Transition of Care program here.
How to avoid prescription interruptions
- Now: Check the Cigna Drug List for your specific medications.
- Select “Standard 3 Tier”
- Mid-December: Contact your doctor’s office about your upcoming insurance change effective January 1, so they can prepare to issue new prescriptions.
- Late December: Refill all prescriptions for a 30-day supply under your Anthem plan. This will provide a buffer during the transition.
Learn more about moving your prescriptions with Cigna here.
California & Hawaii medical options:
- California: Re-elect Kaiser HMO (which requires using Kaiser doctors and facilities) or choose Cigna.
- Hawaii: Re-elect HMAA.
To have health insurance in 2026, you must complete active enrollment in Workday between Nov 10–21. This applies whether you keep Kaiser/HMAA or switch to Cigna (CA only). Failure to enroll will result in no health insurance starting Jan 1, 2026.
